Tim Kernan, Partner: A graduate of New York University and the Landing School, Tim worked as chief engineer and lead design associate for Robert Perry Yacht Designers, Inc (1995-2000). He then worked as a consultant to Morelli and Melvin Design and Engineering, designers of the record breaking maxi-cat Playstation (2000-2003). Kernan Yacht Design was founded in 2003
Frederick Courouble, Partner: Graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Naval Architecture in England Frederick Courouble received his Master’s of Science in Aerospace Engineering with emphasis in aerodynamic in 2007. In Europe, Frederick did consultancy works and designs on Open 60 as crew and designer with Joubert-Nivelt office, then joined the German Frers office in Milan for 3 years running all the IMS designs. Relocated to the USA in 2000, he collaborated with Alan Andrews until 2007, mainly specialized in performance optimization of racing yachts; his latest research work in optimization was an experimental study on neural network-based performance analysis in collaboration with the South African syndicate “Shosholoza” for the 32nd America’s Cup.

Selene Yachts are manufactured in a state of the art facility, in Dong Guan, Canton, China Every Selene Yacht begins it’s life as fiberglass cloth and resin. Since high quality materials are the foundation of any great product, our materials are stored in a climate controlled warehouse. This insures that the hull and deck laminates are not compromised by storage of the raw materials in an uncontrolled environment.
While high-quality materials and components are critical, even the best materials can be wasted if manufacturing processes are not consistently controlled. A key part of Jet Tern Marine commitment to quality is achieving ISO 9001 certification. ABS Quality Evaluations, Inc. awarded Jet Tern Marine with ISO 9001 certification in August 2001 (Certificate number 35916). ISO 9001 certification means that Jet Tern Marine processes are documented and controlled to insure consistency, which is an important part of quality. We believe that Jet Tern Marine is the first shipyard in China producing yachts to achieve ISO certification.

Founded by Canadian William Baycroft, Yacht Consultants Asia (YCA) was established to address the needs of merging Western and Asian Yachting communities. Our operations office is based in ShenZhen China about an hour by car, train, or Turbo Jet Ferry from its administrative office in Kowloon, Hong Kong, S.A.R. Our locations allow easy access for clients, talented trade and design crews, suppliers and manufacturers. As a team we focus on all aspects of pleasure yacht manufacturing regardless of size, substrate or hull form, from small custom or production gunkholers… to behemoth Superyachts, 50+ meters in length.
YCA provides more than an introduction to Western, European and Asian Yachting communities, in that we safeguard your interests, with accurate detailed consultation, direct representation, practical sourcing, and cooperative follow up. YCA services are directed toward individual yacht owners as well as yacht manufacturing companies.
